I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the National College of Arts on completing 150 years of excellence in arts and cultural education. This landmark achievement is a testament to NCA’s lasting impact on Pakistan’s creative and academic landscape.
In an age where information is just a click away, the pursuit of meaningful knowledge remains a noble endeavor. One of the greatest challenges educational institutions face today is creating safe, inclusive and enriching environments for students. As we look toward a future shaped by creativity, technology and global dialogue, institutions like NCA are more significant than ever. I am confident that the College will continue to inspire and empower young minds, fostering a vibrant community of thinkers who contribute meaningfully on a global scale.
Over the decades, NCA has played a pivotal role in nurturing generations of artists, architects, designers, filmmakers and musicians who have not only shaped the cultural landscape of our nation but have also gained international acclaim. The college’s commitment to academic innovation, artistic integrity and critical inquiry is a source of national pride.
Equally commendable are NCA’s community outreach initiatives, which reflect a deep commitment to inclusivity and social responsibility.
NCA Campus Karachi is set to open soon, with an initial focus on launching community outreach programs. These will be short-term, skill-based courses with durations of one year, six months, and three months. The goal of these programs is to empower the local community by equipping participants with practical skills that enable them to start their own small businesses or secure skilled jobs in the market and industry. These courses aim to bridge the gap between the demand for skilled professionals and the available workforce, contributing to both individual growth and broader economic development of the country.
By bringing arts education to underserved and remote regions, the College is making significant strides in expanding access and opportunity across the country.
I also wish to acknowledge the dedication of NCA’s faculty, students and leadership in shaping the institution’s rich creative legacy. May the institution continue to thrive in its mission to foster creativity and cultural dialogue all over the world.
Warm regards,
Dr. Khalid Maqbool
